- The list could also be used as a deterrence to one manager stockpiling "good" players. Too many can't cut players provides of level of inflexibility that would hinder a player from making crucial roster moves. (i.e. inability to cut a receiver to pick up depth at running back, or juggle players during bye weeks.
Given the allegedly close relationships between some of our managers, it seems like the can't cut list has value in preventing certain combinations of managers from sharing insider knowledge that would allow reciprocal benefits. While this is a concern, very little evidence exists from are years of experience in this league. However, the real value of this list is limited because these transactions can still take place with players not on the can't cut list.
Addressing the second point, there is a wide discrepancy in the amount of time managers are able to devote to the league each week. The Can't Cut list could prevent a player from stockpiling Can't Cut players, or once they are stockpiled from making additional moves. The list however cuts another direction. Managers that sign Can't Cut players, without paying attention to their status on the list, may end up stuck with players they would not have otherwise drafted/signed.
The Commissioner (Hereafter "The Commish") of the Rocky Mountain High Life(Hereafter "The League") has been petitioned to discontinue the use of the can't cut list. Although two good reasons exist to maintain the use of the list; given the size of the League and the depth of available quality unsigned players even if some level of illegitimate activities were to occur, the resultant damage is inconsequential and could be mitigated by efficient team management. Therefore the use of the list in this League shall be discontinued starting on Wednesday, September twentieth, two thousand and eleven, given that there are no further objections from members of the League. Managers will have until that time to petition (hereafter "Email") The League with objections.
